I've become emotionally attached to Star Wars!

I never thought I would say it. I am one of those who never cared about anything Star Wars. At all. I know it existed in my childhood because of the commercials and toys. Then it went away. I had no clue that the trilogy involved any kind of storyline, I just knew that it was good vs. evil, blah blah blah. I mean how can you get into a story that starts in the middle?
When they made episode one, I watched. I will watch Liam Neeson in pretty much anything, but I appreciated episode 1, but never watched the next two. Then I had two boys and they grew to be 5 and 7. Star Wars was reinvented in the form of the animated Clone Wars on Cartoon Network and in the form of Lego Star Wars on the Wii. As I screened the Clone Wars and watched the animated Anakin in action I realized that he was the future Darth Vader and I wanted to know how that transformation really happened. We were able to DVR the movies and I started watching them with the boys and paying attention to the story line.
And here I am, at the age of 38, and I'm sad for Anakin Skywalker and what he became. My brain struggles to reconcile the loss. I have to snap myself out of it and remember that it's a fictional story from a long time ago in a galaxy far away. But I wonder how are George Lucas, Hayden Christionson and Mark Hamill not haunted by the characters in this movie?
I need a new hobby!
